Style Me Pretty Features Laura and Joe

Midway Georgia Dunham Farms Wedding

Laura and Joe’s intimate outdoor wedding has just been featured by Style Me Pretty. It was such an honor for me to photograph this wedding and to be a part of such a beautiful occasion. Laura and Joe wed under a rustic arbor and celebrated with close friends and family all afternoon with amazing live music, games, and a perfect view of the river cutting through the marsh.

A Morning Walk

Dallas Wedding Photographer Nate Henderson

Laura and I went for a walk this past Saturday morning in the brisk air.

One of the real joys of moving back to Texas has been the support/help of my parents in watching our kids. I can’t really express what this has meant to Laura and I, but suffice it to say that we’re thankful for that special time to spend with just each other and grow our marriage more sweetly and beautifully. Don’t get me wrong, we love our kids and honestly there is perhaps no greater earthly calling than to raise and shepherd children into lovers of Jesus Christ. But… I think it’s so important for us to remember that we raise children to leave us and have their own families, but God has provided marriage as a close and intimate relationship beyond children.

And so we hope to take more walks like this and have conversations you just can’t have when kids are around.

Robert Doisneau was a Gifted Photographer

Lately I’ve been reading through (or mostly viewing) a book of Robert Doisneau, the french street photographer. It has been an interesting read partly because his writing is frenetic and disjointed, and partly because it is amazing. His photographs in the book are quite beautiful and touching, some with hints of joy and pain, others with loud and bursting shouts. Today I thought it fitting to share a photograph along with a quote from him.

Black and White Street Photographer“There are days when the simple fact of seeing seems a real joy; you feel light as a feather. You feel so rich that you want to share your bursting joy with others. The memory of those moments is the most precious thing I possess…. A hundredth of a second here, a hundredth of a second there, put together end to end; that never makes more than two or three seconds wrung from eternity.”
